As you know, when the U.S. House of Representatives voted on health care reform legislation last month, FFL members and supporters were part of the grassroots initiative to include an amendment that would prohibit federal funding of abortion. As the Senate prepares to take up this legislation, FFL is once again calling upon you to advocate on behalf of women and children.

Senators Ben Nelson (D-NE) and Orrin Hatch (R-UT) have introduced an amendment that mirrors the language in the Stupak-Pitts Amendment in the House.

Do your part to protect women and children. FFL is asking you to call and e-mail your Senators TODAY, and urge them to support the Nelson-Hatch amendment. Tell them women deserve better than abortion in health care reform. If you can't get through to their offices on Capitol Hill, call their state offices!
